How IOCP CERTIFIED Works
From Ilam hillside to your cup — with full transparency at every step
Our Four-Step Model
Every IOCP CERTIFIED tea follows a clear, verified path from smallholder farm to your door.
01
🌱 Farmer Verification
Each farmer is registered, their land surveyed, and their cultivation practices verified. Only farms meeting IOCP CERTIFIED standards are listed — no synthetic inputs, sustainable methods, traceable records.
02
🍃 Harvest & Processing
Tea is hand-plucked by the farmers themselves using traditional methods. It is processed locally using orthodox methods that preserve the complex flavour profiles Ilam is known for.
03
📦 Listed on Platform
Once verified, the farmer’s tea is listed on the IOCP CERTIFIED platform with their details, the harvest batch, weight, and price — all publicly visible. 62.4% of the sale price goes directly to the farmer.
04
💸 Direct Payment
When a buyer purchases, payment is transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account within days — not weeks. No middleman. No cash-in-hand. A verified, permanent record of every transaction.

Why 62.4%?
In the traditional Nepali tea supply chain, farmers typically receive only 30–40% of the final retail price. IOCP CERTIFIED restructures this so that 62.4% of every sale price reaches the farmer directly.
The remaining portion covers verification, platform maintenance, packaging, logistics, and quality assurance — all the services that allow the farmer to focus on what they do best: growing exceptional tea.
This is not a charity model. This is a fair market model.
